Leadership Development

Professional growth requires new skills. Executives and managers should be constantly growing in order to meet the ever changing needs of their environments. The Individual Leadership Development program is custom designed for each situation and conducted one-on-one or in small groups with the objective of enhancing both individual and organization performance.

Purpose
To develop leadership, self understanding, and interpersonal skills.

Objective

To assist the individual in assessing the following as a means of personal and professional growth

“My current role as a leader in the company”

“The abilities and skills that I need to be a successful leader now”

“Where I'm going and the abilities and skills needed for the future”

Overview
Every effort is intended to make this a relaxed, pleasant, and rewarding experience. Best described as "about you and for you," it is a comfortable exploration of the above objective. The guided experience is accomplished through a variety of activities, materials, videos, and discussions---possibly including 360º feedback from leaders, peers, and direct reports. At the beginning, the participant is asked to think about what he/she wants to accomplish in order to leave the session
thinking, "Wow, what a wonderful opportunity! What a great use of time and the company's resources. I'm so glad that I did this!" Determining these perceptions permits many topics and activities to be fitted to the needs of the individual.

Activities are self-report and self-scored. Participants leave the session with resources for continued
growth and all of the materials. No copies are held. Nothing goes into the personnel files. Discussions are confidential. The participant feels, in many ways, in charge of the session.

What Leadership Development Is Not

•The session is not psychoanalytical

• The facilitator is not a clinical psychologist

• It is not designed to “fix” poor performers, but rather, to unleash high potential

Follow-up

Participants use the facilitator as a resource, coach, and cheerleader, often at no additional charge.
